Tegan's test scores

We are so proud of Tegan. We got his test scores back yesterday and he did such a great job after being so nervous about it. He got 100% on all four verbal sections except one (he missed one question in one section). He only missed three questions in the math sections and two in science (this section doesn't even count). It's interesting how they assign grade levels to each secton. In all the verbal sections he scored at the level at which an average high school junior or senior would have scored had they taken the same test. For math he scored at the level that an average 3rd grader at the end of the year would have scored had he taken this same test. For science it was a 7th grader. Looking at it this way makes it sound as if we have a brilliant child, which we do :). He was very pleased with his results and at first thought they enables him to slack off a bit next year in third grade, until I read him the comments from his test giver who remarked, "Be sure to keep challenging him."

Tegan has been writing quite a bit on his own this year and once he finishes one of his stories I'll cut and paste it into here for all to read. He's thinking about sending some writings into a magazine to see if they will get published as well. His imagination gets him off track in most daily tasks, but makes for wonderful stories that he's learning to put down on paper.

We'll be wrapping up our school year in a few weeks and then begin some summer adventures: gardening, letterboxing, biking, hiking, golfing, camping, etc. - We can't wait!!!
