We had a little fun with Tegan's 'beard' last night while filming the rest of Tegan's movie. I played Bin Laden in one scene so this was my costume. Riley and Conner had fun making all sorts of disguises with the beard.
On another note, last week was the first time Tegan mentioned inviting some of his new friends here to his birthday party. Previously, he had only been trying to figure out how to get his Eugene friends together with him for his birthday. (Yes, he's planning early, but that has always happened). However, a few days following that comment he was asking me "If I eat less could you put the grocery money that you save into my account so I can fly back to Eugene every month?" After a lesson in the cost of airline tickets he realized that probably wouldn't be reasonable and has decided to try to find a job instead. We'll see how that goes - the looking hasn't been too serious yet, as school puts a kink in it and since school is his 'job' he may just have to wait a bit longer.
Today, Tegan competed in a spelling bee for home school kids in 4th-8th grade. He scored right in the middle on the written exam and then went on to the oral exam and lasted for four rounds. It was a great experience for him and he had a good time doing it.
