Cousins Are Here

Ciela and Thane arrived on Saturday while we were at the Triathlon. They've been hanging with Papa most of the week and our boys have been there too. On Monday, Papa took all his grandkids and me to Winterpark for a day of summer fun. They have quite a set-up at the base of the mountain there. We also got to have them out to our house for a night. Not a lot of "going" but the five kids had fun hanging out. Ciela was right in the midst of a giant Army Man battle (picture little plastic army men, various vehicles and a whole lot of STUFF - upturned tables and chairs, other toys, pillows, etc - strategically placed all over our basement then the balls start flying until total destruction has occurred). They played outside a bit, but my guys are a tad wimpy when it comes to heat, especially when compared to these two Texans. They did jump on the trampoline in the evening and Thane coaxed Tegan out to the tennis court for a bit. They are all together back at Papa's tonight for one last night together, which means Andy and I get a quiet night to ourselves :).

On our way to Winterpark we crossed over the Continental Divide.

No matter where we park, our first stop at Winterpark is always the gondola.

Riding to the top of the alpine slide.

The longest alpine slide in Colorado. I scared myself a few times going so fast and I was always trying to catch one of the kids, so I can't imagine how fast they were going. Even Papa was speeding down.

The Gyro: a ride that doesn't even look fun. Conner was the wise one and refrained from riding. The others enjoyed the crazy spinning ride. How Riley can enjoy this ride, yet get carsick every time he steps in a vehicle is beyond me.

The zipline was a bit wimpy, but fun nonetheless.

Riley and Ciela were the only ones with the patience to wait in line for the bungee trampoline. They both did many flips and jumped high.

At our house they had hours of fun in the bathroom with the rats. They made all sorts of little rat play houses and other contraptions for the rats to play on. All was fun until I turned around in the kitchen and saw a rat scurry across the floor. Apparently, they can squeeze out under the door. I did capture him and send him back with an admonishment to block that crack!

What sweet cousins. They all had such a good time together.
