Old TX Friends

Nine years ago we moved from Texas to Oregon and left behind some wonderful friends. A few of those friends still remain in TX, but many moved on with the Air Force at about the same time. We were part of a group of "young families" at our church in TX. We all met after we had had our first children and then about 10 of us were pregnant with our second child at the same time and due within months of each other. It was great fun going through this time with these families, but we hadn't seen them (with the exception of one family) since we moved to OR. The other night we go to catch up with some of these friends. This was our group where I first experimented with home schooling. We would rotate houses with our oldest children and a mom would teach them for the morning, while another mom watched the youngest children and the other moms had the morning off. It was great fun for all and our oldests, still remembered each other a bit.

Gienapps, Gillans, Truitts, Gishes

Two of us have added on to our families since leaving TX and it was fun to see how everyone has grown.
